Joseph Anderson

General Counsel

Joseph Anderson joined Legacy Funeral Group in 2025, where he serves as General Counsel, overseeing all legal, regulatory, risk management, and transactional matters for the company and all of its affiliates. With over 10 years of legal experience, Joseph provides practical, business-focused legal guidance to executive leadership. As General Counsel, he supports strategic growth while minimizing risk and ensuring compliance, helping the organization navigate legal issues, and supporting the organization’s mission with integrity, professionalism, and sound legal judgment. His approach emphasizes efficient problem-solving and proactive risk mitigation, enabling operational teams to remain focused on delivering compassionate care to families.

Joseph is admitted to practice in Texas and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Prior to transitioning in-house, Joseph built a diverse legal practice representing businesses, property owners, contractors, and individuals in complex commercial disputes involving real estate, construction, and finance, as well as in real estate, corporate, and construction transactions. Joseph earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from South Texas College of Law, where he was a member of the South Texas Law Review, an Articles Editor for the Texas Journal of Business Law, and an accomplished advocate for the school’s moot court team. Prior to law school, Joseph earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Christian University. Outside of the office, Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife and their son, family, and friends, as well as fishing, hunting, and golfing.
