Legacy Funeral Group Purchases Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes

(Houston, TX) Legacy Funeral Group announces the purchase of Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes, located in Rockport and Aransas Pass, Texas. These two funeral homes join more than 100 funeral homes and cemeteries already under the Legacy umbrella, operating across nine different states.

 Charlie Marshall built his first funeral home in 1949 and faithfully served the families of Aransas Pass and Rockport for over 65 years. Marshall, who passed away in 2014, built a reputation and was known as a pillar of the South Texas Coastal Communities. His funeral homes have been recognized for service excellence by United States Presidents, congress members, senators, governors, and countless South Texas families.

 

“We are honored to continue Mr. Marshall’s legacy and serve the families of Rockport and Aransas Pass with the same level of professionalism and care that they would expect from Mr. Marshall himself,” said Michael Soper, owner of Legacy Funeral Group.

 

Mr. Marshall and Mr. Soper maintained a long friendship over the years and prior to his passing, Marshall insisted to his family that the continuation of his life’s work be entrusted to Mr. Soper and the Legacy Funeral Group.

Furrever Pet Crematory is an extension of Shafer Mortuary Services that brings care, guidance, and helpful support to families who are experiencing the loss of a beloved pet. Taylor Mendoza Named TFDA’s Panhandle Young Professional of the Year

A licensed funeral director and embalmer for nearly seven years, Taylor began her career at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland and now serves families in Lubbock as a funeral director and embalmer at Combest Family Funeral Homes. She has become a respected and valued member of the funeral service community, known for her compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the families she serves. Beyond her daily role, Taylor has made a meaningful impact on the profession, serving on the Panhandle Funeral Director Association Board and advocating for the industry. She also recently founded the No Whispers Foundation, which supports families facing unexpected loss and helps cover funeral costs for child victims, ensuring no family navigates tragedy alone.
